Cleaning Vinyl Siding
Vinyl siding is the easiest of all exterior house finishings to keep looking clean. One cleaning each fall is all you really need to do, as long as you don’t have mildew or rust problems.
This is the cheapest, easiest and fastest way I have found to keep it looking new. Apply a solution of 1 part bleach, 3 parts water, and just a small squirt of liquid dish soap to the siding with a basic pump sprayer (10-15 dollars). Let this solution sit for 15-20 minutes then spray it off with the hard stream from a garden hose.
Stubbon stains can be treated with an extra application of 1:3 bleach solution or rust stains can spot treated with Iron Out.
Protect the scrubs and grass around the house by giving them a deep watering before you start. Some people recommend a pressure washer, but the high pressure can force water past the siding or even crack it. The garden hose and sprayer will get the job done.
