Spend some time on Google. Samsung side-by-sides are notorious for freezing up and other problems that prevent the fridge from cooling. They're big and loaded for the price, but when you lose a couple of hundred bucks worth of food and have to unplug it for 48 hours a few times, you quickly make up the difference in purchase price.

We purchased the Samsung RF266AASH refrigerator from Lowes 11 months ago. We liked the look, layout and twin cooling feature of the refrigerator. It performs its basic function, keeping things cold, just fine. We are disappointed with how little ice the ice maker produces.

Unfortunately, we do have strong reservations about recommending this product to others. We have had repeated problems with parts failing. Most repairs have been covered under warranty. But when a small plastic piece that's part of the water dispenser switch inexplicably snapped in half, Samsung refused to replace this part, effectively not honoring their warranty promise to "cover manufacturing defects in material and workmanship" and to "repair or replace any part found to be defective". Why they chose not to cover this $1.00 part after covering everything else is baffling.

Anyway, here's the list of things that have gone wrong during the first 11 months that we've owned this product:
- Main electronic controller board locked up and had to be replaced
- Left freezer drawer slide assembly had to be replaced twice
- Ice maker somehow fell from mounting position into freezer drawer. When we pulled the drawer out, the electrical wires connected to the ice maker were cut in half. Ice maker was replaced.
- Water dispenser switch breaks. Samsung refuses to send replacement part.

Considering how many things have gone wrong in 11 months, we have serious misgivings about how reliable this product will be over the next 10 to 15 years -- assuming it makes it that long.

If we had to do it over, we'd buy a different manufacturer's refrigerator.

Well, we just bought the Samsung RF266AASH and unfortunately - we can't get it to cool. We've tried unplugging it to reset. Then we tried holding down the Energy Saver Button and the Power Freezer Button to reset and still nothing.

The display continues to show OF f. However, I can't find any references in the manual nor on the web to what this means.

I bought the Samsung RF266AAWP Twin Cooling refrigerator about 3 months ago. It is the best French door bottom freezer refrigerator on the market for the price. It really is a great deal. The stainless (RF266AARS) and the titanium/platinum look refrigerator models (RF266AARS and RF266AASH) really don't cost that much more if that is the look you need. I didn't need an in door ice maker, so this option with filtered water was perfect for me.
