Time for a new Toilet?
Are you remodeling or just need to replace an old toilet, but scared about all the bad things you hear about today’s low flow toilet. You don’t need to worry. Toilets have undergone significant design changes in the last ten years to meet the 1.6 gallon per flush (GPF) requirement. The jets have been redirected and the surface area of the water has increased. The flush valve and pathway have also increased from <2″ to 3+”. This also for more pressure to force everything down. The last 30 years have seen huge water savings from the toilet. A new toilet in the seventies used over 7 gallons per flush compared to todays 1.6 GPF. Here is a partial list of a test of low flush toilet, a toilet that exceeds the 250+ grams is viewed as acceptable.
